Ornate wood frame is showing age and separating at feet cause of the glue drying after 100+ years, with the usual scratches and scuffs. Has nice medallion of a lion on top and back is simple reflection of front with out medallion.
Glass has some tight age cracks and major bulging toward backside. Solid and normal for the age and gravity taking control! Needs to be reset so would need to be taking out of frame by professional and laid flat and reset, this would give chance to re-glue and restore frame. Frame measures 40″ tall, 18″ wide, feet 17″ deep. The detail and beauty is reminiscent of Louis Comfort Tiffany.
Guessing made 1860s-1880s. Awesome Fireplace Screen!!!!
