Antique Brass Bronze General Deliveries Postal Sign. Looks and feels cast brass or bronze and is nonmagnetic. Seen a few of these said to come out of old Post Offices.
Nice old sign with raised lettering over textured backing and raised boarder. 2 mounting holes, one on each side. Unusually well made. Don’t see any damage or repairs just bowed a bit shown in last 2 pictures, last pic laying flat on counter. Seen this finish called a japanned finish.
Not painted over so if you like shiny you can just polish but I wouldn’t touch that beautiful applied patinated finish showing good age.
Measures 12 3/4” wide 2 1/4” tall and close 3/16” thick. Nice weight for size at 13 1/2 oz.
