Late 1800s or early 1900s Art Nouveau Miniature Bust. Looks bronze and seen these called bronze but believe it to be spelter with a lovely Patinaed Bronze wash and is nonmagnetic.

Measures 7 1/4″ tall, 4″ wide across shoulders x 2 1/4″ deep. Weight is nice for size at 1 pound 2 oz. Found some fun reading from Wikipedia at bottom of page on spelter.

Metal bust is in good condition with less then average wear for the age having scuffs, scratches, and little finish loss. Small piece rattling inside. The bottom felt is mostly worn off showing underside with shiny metal areas, and see shiny finish under the antique felt that still remains so looks like the way it was made. Sits nice and looks nice!

Guessing made late 1800’s – early 1900’s. Cool Little Bust!!! Check out our other Art Nouveau miniature Busts. Please check pictures for description and condition.

Spelter is a zinc–lead alloy that ages to resemble bronze, but is softer and has a lower melting point. The name can also refer to a copper–zinc alloy used for brazing, or to pure zinc
