Fine Tibet Tibetan Bronze Temple Hand Bell.
Found some fun info from orgs.usd.edu – Hand bell (dril bu), Tibet, 20th century. Two-piece, copper-based alloy construction. Iron clapper. Bells play an integral part in monastic ensembles, sounding either continuously or in short deliberate bursts. Five-pronged handle representing the central axis of the universe and the four cardinal directions. Held in the left hand, “of wisdom,” in combination with the sacred scepter.
Bell looks bronze or brass with metal iron clapper, just bell is nonmagnetic. String connects the clapper. Measures 6 1/4″ tall and has bottom lip diameter of 3 5/8″. Comes apart in two Pieces.
Good weight for size at 14 oz. Nice condition with loud gong! Sounds good and works good! Please check pictures for description and condition.
