Nice 80 year old Plaque. Had date and recipients name not included. WOW Students initiated push in 2015 to get rid of this former seal, The retired seal – in use since 1936. So this 1941 now retired or retiring Bronze Harvard Law School Seal will be very rare sooner then later.
Seen these called Bronze but could be Brass. Has 4 7/8″ diameter, 1/4″ thick and nice weight for size at little over 3/4 pound. Cool old Plaque with Seal of the Harvard Corporation, found on Harvard diplomas. Christo et Ecclesiae (“For Christ and Church”) is one of Harvard’s early mottoes.
Has a nice older casting. No damage. Plaque is universal so if you want to gift it and add a name plate then wood mount them. Make a cool present for that next Harvard hopeful! Great for mancave! 2 original screw bolts included. Has its tarnishing, scuffs scratches, age wear, far from new, nice Patina and looks great!
