No power plug included. 2 pictured/ quantity but prices are for one clock only. Will pick cleanest for first come first served basis, but both in good looking/ working vintage condition. These are over 20 years old so don’t expect new/perfect. Tubes can be replaced if needed with little online searching,
From what I found online this clock was designed by Peter van der Jagt in 1997 as an exam project at the Arnhem art academy. He used modern electronics to drive the old display tubes, which resulted in a nixie clock that is much more compact than the use of electronic circuits from the era in which nixie tubes were produced. The clock is encapsulated in a shiny stainless steel casing which makes it look finished, pure and simple. A design piece for the modern house.
Also what I found and you be the judge this clock uses 6 ZM1080 nixie tubes (hours, minutes and seconds) that have had their orange coating removed. These tubes have not been in production for decades and this makes the clock a mix of old and new technology. On the inside there is a microcontroller for time registration and control. The operation (setting time) consists of 2 metal toggle switches. It says online you can switch between 12 and 24 hour indication, I see left toggle switch goes to right position and then center is off and left position is another setting, the right toggle switch is left – right for time setting. Have just set regular time and seems to work well, really not sure how other setting comes into play but it sets time just haven’t ran for days to see what happens.
No power plug included and prefer someone who knows these clocks to find proper part. Did come with 1 power plug that is not original and again “not” included cause reads made in china and don’t believe this is an original to clock and prefer buyer to hunt down original plug or match the correct plug from someone who knows this clock. This is one of the few Peter van der Jagt designed nixie clocks ever made in production, and has been tested for my photographs. Left them running few days and seem to work, time set functions good, keep time well for few days when tested.
Measures 7 3/4″ wide x 2 3/4″ deep, base is 1 1/2″ tall and 3 1/4″ tall to top of tubes. Weight is 1 1/2 pound. Good looking condition with scratches scuffs handling marks and still looks great!
Guessing made late 1990s. Fun Tube Clock!!!
Please check pictures for description and condition.
