Pahponee Seed Pot. Love the names of her buffalo vessels, In A Sacred Manner I Walk, Buffalo Thunder In Spring, Buffalo In Summer!
Measures 3 1/2″ tall, widest diameter of 6″ and has an unusually small 1″ hole opening compared to the several other buffalo pots I’ve seen, no title or date so could be an earlier piece. Weight is nice at 1 1/2 pound. Raised buffalo and horns. Believe this to be authentic so any issues just return it they way received but I dont see that happening!
Good condition with average wear scuffs & scratches from age and handling from being preowned but no cracks, breaks, damage I see. Possible imperfections from making process but hard to tell so check pictures or ask for more cause this is a very nice piece of art, certainly one colorful mesmerizing piece of Native American Pottery!
Exhilarating online search brings – Pahponee is a descendant of the Kickapoo and Potawatomi Nations, Pahponee translates into Snow Woman. Started clay in the 80’s. Beautiful one of a kind pottery and now is one of the top Native American potters. Barbara McKinney-Elston Native American Pottery is a collectors must see!
Guessing 1990’s or earlier. Cool Kickapoo Pahponee Pottery Art!! Please check pictures for description and condition.
