Unsigned bronze game bird pen tray. Stone is 13 7/8″ wide by 6 1/2″ deep and around 7/8″ thick. Tray & bird is 3 1/4″ tall to top of pheasants back. Unusual to see this type of tray so big. Weight is a whopping 5 pound 6 oz. I added few rubber/ hard plastic feet bumpers to protect table top, one bottom bolt/ nut is even with the bottom stone. Also these feet work great for just picking up these type trays, cause of the weight and getting your fingers underneath can be difficult. Can add a few more feet with tray incase you like to add more. They work great!
Good condition for the period with few ruff spots/ imperfections you can feel rubbing your fingers on the edges and small chip visible on inner lip shown in last picture which almost blends in with the white busy grain. Stone has small hole on the back side pictured from making process. Pheasant has aged look and nice Patina, don’t see any real issues with the large 9″ long bird besides average tarnishing to finish. Guessing mid to late 1800’s. Cool Old Austrian Type Bronze Pen Tray! Look just as good on any vanity for trinkets as it would on any desk displaying a pen or two!!
