Rare set of 4 cast bronze architectural floral relief grille/ regulator grate or panels. Looks feels bronze but could be brass, metal is nonmagnetic. Lovely Floral Designs, Possibly from a bank, institution, retail building. Previous owner mentioned Macys but you know how that goes. 700 each times 4 for set, 2800.00.
One would think with the awesome details and workmanship these should be from a Macys or similar building. it was in all probability, an elaborate building decoration. Only one sided finished with the gilt. Make great entrance hardware.
Sizes are 26″ X 5 1/2″ X 7/8″ = 9 Pound 3 oz. Two are 27 3/8″ x 5 1/2″ x 7/8″ = 9 Pound 6 oz each. Largest is 30 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ x 7/8″, 11 1/4 Pound. Over 40 pounds of heavy metal.
These have some bent flowers as to be expected from age use storage and removal with two shown in last two pictures. Very Cool architectural salvaged here. In good usable condition with wear from age and use so far from perfect with finish wear, dings/ imperfection on side with staining scratches, scuffs, nice Patina and still looks great!
Guessing made late 1800s early 1900s. Cool Old Commercial Building Architectural Panels!!
