This nice vintage Pelican bird paperweight sculpture, unsigned. Heavy metal for size at hair over 13 oz. Base measures 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″, sculpture is 3″ tall. Good condition for age with light scratches scuffs handling marks imperfections from making process and still looks great!!
Seen these called Victorian bronze or cast iron but I’m going with bronze and cast iron weighted, seen similar without felt bottom showing iron incorporated to inside base for weight or strength. This felt looks to good so may have been replaced and leaving it intact. The sculpture itself is in good looking condition with nice Patina compared to few I’ve seen. Pelican & top section is nonmagnetic but base is magnetic cause of the iron. What ever the metal mix its a fun piece!
