This is a pair of Vintage Art Deco L.V. Aronson Bookends w/ Hunting Dogs. Book not included. Signed L. V. A. dated 1922. Measures about 3 3/8″ tall to top of head, 6″ long to end of tail and 3 3/8″ wide. Weight is nice and solid 3 1/4 pound for the pair. Book not included.
Metal I’m going with spelter and non-magnetic. They look to have been repainted black at some point and looks like a good job done topside but paint didn’t cover facial part that holds the book and whoever should of finished with another coat of paint, didn’t paint the bottoms and felt is long gone so I added rubber/hard plastic bumper feet around 4 corners after pictures.
See many L.V.A. bookends with all sorts or themes, animals, hunting dog bookends facing right left but like the Retriever bookends facing the books the best! Have surface rusting/bending on bottom plates but solid, looks to be iron and is magnetic. Dogs look in good condition with light scratches, scuffs, dusty and still looks great!
