Vintage Asian Jewelry Box, Seen similar called Meiji Period vanity boxes but chest is unsigned. This Jewelry box is very unusual with all the metal work, Usually its the beautiful painting, inlays, mother of pearl, or fancy storage compartments. The drop front door is interesting also. Measures 8″ tall, x 7 1/2″ wide and 3 3/4″ deep not counting latch. Weight is solid 1 pound 10 oz. This is far from perfect and small like a toy, so if looking for perfect or top notch quality this not for you but if you like an old well used and enjoyed Asian lacquer chest then this is a cool find.
Red felt interior bottom draws with one having some staining, wood has scuffs and scrapes, door has little spaces on each side from bent latch, Metal bending with few nails missing, few whites specks and still looks great!!
