Walter von Nessen For Chase Vintage Dinner Bell w/ Enamel Brass Bird. From what I found is Walter von Nessen for the Chase Brass & Copper Company, NY, made in the 1930s.
Very cool old little bell. Walter von Nessen 1889-1943. for Chase Brass & Copper Company, New York, New York, nickel-plated steel, enameled brass, unmarked. Found some fun reading on this historic company from the great Wikipedia at bottom of page.
Measures 2 3/4″ tall to top of bird, with bottom lip diameter of 2″. Has good weight at hair under 6 oz. Seen a few of these and this one the bird has most its color with Patina and bell still has a nice shine to it.
Good condition for age and use with average wear, few scuffs and scratches, few tarnished spots inside bell, Original Clapper with very nice jingle. Nice Patina and looks and sounds great!!
Guessing made way before 1930s. Cool Old Bell!!
