Capitoline Wolf The Capitoline Wolf (Italian:Lupa Capitolina) is a sculpture depicting a scene from the legend of the founding of Rome. The sculpture shows a she-wolf suckling the mythical twin founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.
Wolf figurine on what looks and sounds like a black glass base, base measures 5″ x 2 3/4″ and 3/8″ thick with rubber feet attached, total height with wolf of 3 3/4″. Base looks good with its reflections and dust. Weight is 14 oz.
Seen few different sizes and this ones nice and in the middle. If you shake the wolf something rattles inside from making process. Wolf was slightly loose and I oiled nut and tighten fine but didn’t want to over tighten so may need bottom nut tighten a hair after shipping, that is if it comes loose. Looks in very good vintage condition, very well done with great details and ready to display!
